Diseñan un nuevo sistema para reciclar aceite doméstico

El Ayuntamiento de Mondragon incorporó a su municipio este sistema de reciclaje hace ahora dos años. Esta incorporación ha permitido multiplicar por cinco los litros de aceite reciclado al año, que sólo en el caso de este municipio guipuzcoano ha pasado de los 5.00 litros anuales a los 25.000 litros de aceite reciclado. Cada bote de aceite tiene una capacidad de almacenaje de un litro y en cada contenedor tienen cabida 174 litros de aceite, además del almacenaje de los propios botes.
El proceso es sencillo. Los usuarios tienen en sus domicilios los botes de aceite que van llenando y una vez lleno, los llevan a los contenedores donde depositan el bote de aceite usado y activando una sencilla manivela se llevan uno limpio.
Una vez lleno el depósito del contenedor (los 174 litros de capacidad), una empresa recogedora, se encarga de extraer los botes con el aceite usado y de su posterior tratamiento para convertirlo en biocombustible, lo que le permite su utilización en multitud de ámbitos. Las empresas fabricantes de biocombustibles son capaces de extraer son capaces de extraer por cada litro de aceite vegetal aproximadamente un litro de biocombustible.
El sistema fue diseñado hace dos años por seis alumnos de la Escuela Politécnica Superior de Mondragon Unibertsitatea y formó parte de un proyecto de tres años impulsado por la propia universidad y el Ayuntamiento de Mondragon. El resultado de ese proyecto de investigación es este sistema por que numerosas instituciones vascas (diputaciones y Ayuntamientos), han mostrado interés para su utilización en sus respectivos municipios y contribuir así al cuidado del medio ambiente. En este momento, se está estudiando la posibilidad de industrializar el producto para su posterior comercialización a nivel mundial.
El sistema de reciclaje estará expuesto en la Feria de Medio Ambiente y Reciclaje del BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Center), entre el 4 y el 7 de noviembre en un stand propio de Mondragon Unibertsitatea y el centro Saiolan. GEO2 es la primera Feria de Desarrollo Sostenible de carácter internacional que se celebra en el BEC y con la que se pretende dar respuesta a la problemática medioambiental y energética y contribuir al impulso de la sostenibilidad

If a diesel fuel tank outlet sample has been taken, it shall be tested for moisture and sediment per D 4176. If moisture or sediment is detected in these samples, corrective action should be taken to remove the contaminants and the action documented. If multiple level samples are used to assure homogeneity, the specific gravity (D 1298) of each strata of the blended product should be determined. The range of results across the three samples shall be less than 0.006 and be visually examined for water, sediment and particulate matter by D 4176. If the product is out of specification then corrective action shall be taken including documentation. The outlet sample taken from the blend tank (when there is no activity over a thirty-day period) shall be tested for moisture and sediment using D 4176, Procedure 2. If out of specification, corrective action with documentation is required.
